Ah oui j'oubliais, un truc essentiel...., la poussière de fibre de verre du G10/11 ça gratte beaucoup...

Donc prévois combinaison avec cagoule, lunette, gants mappa et masque....

I have just purchased some fr4/g10.

I found a company in the UK who sell off cuts at a reduced cost. I paid £35 for 8mm in 1200mm/120mm size. I also bought 6mm, same size for £27.

A full sheet of 8mm would have cost me over £220 by the time it was delivered. I think the cost is good.

I plan on using the Dups method and have a friend with a large scale digital CNC which we plan to use to shape the material. I will let you know how I got on.

Dups, did you find the 8mm stiff enough? I hope so as I am pretty much copying your technique! (hope you don't mind)

The cost of your FR4/G10 is really cheap    Can you buy some pieces for us poor froggys ???
8mm is stiff enough. At the end, on my first foil, it's 11/12mm, and on the new one it's 14mm but more hard flex and torsion (using 2 quadri axial carbon on each side + one 300 gr carbon).
6mm can be used also for a 10/12mm mast.
Let us know for the CNC shape (pics, pics pics...)

I will take some photos when I get the material.

Currently I have my fuselage baking in the garden and if my g10 arrives today, I hope to make my mast for the weekend.

Finally I am getting somewhere!

The material arrived.

Very nice getting it cut so it arrived in the right length.

CNC this week I hope though as I got 3 pieces, I plan to shape one by hand.

c'est pas gros, c'est 255 x 130 millimètres.
On peut cintrer du G10 ?

oui, jusqu'à 2mm d'épaisseur et avec un grand rayon de courbure, env 1.50mètre, après plus épais :ça ne se cintre pas; rayon plus court ça casse
