Wave riding

I am looking for videos showing somebody ripping waves.
I would not believe it two weeks ago.
Now I believe it!

I ride in the waves often, but I still do not think that I am very good at it. I have no one to make videos of me so sorry I can not help you with videos.

If you have any specific questions I can try answer them.

Otherwise come visit Cape Town while it is still winter here. The conditions for riding waves on a foilboard can be very good this time of year, but some days you need to be brave. We had 6m swell forecast on windguru last weekend, and believe me, it was very scary even if it was not quite as big as the forecast said.

There is not wind everyday in winter like we have in summer, but good foiling conditions with light winds normally twice a week.

Chris - I had the same problem till I have managed to utilise a special mount for goprofor kite lines. Since than it's so easy.

O yeah! I like Cape Town and its surroundings. My family too
We were there in your summer 2010. However we discovered SE Asia in the meantime and still in love with Thainland. But someday we are going to visit CT for sure.
I hope I will manage to learn foiling on waves. Believe that unhooked riding might be easier than on a classic wave board. This is my plan for coming months.

Yip, I need to get a GoPro and line mount. Do you have photos of the rig setup that you made to mount the GoPro without it shaking too much?

Yip, I saw Marc's video. He makes the air jibe look so easy!

The problem about foil surfing videos, is that the waves always look so small and far away since the surfer is standing above most of the wave in smaller waves, and the video does not do justice to how connected the surfer really feels to the wave. Unless you have tasted the energy of a wave with a foilboard, the surfing part always looks a bit dull and unappealing in videos.

Ah, thanks! I think the long arms add lots of inertia which really helps to smooth out any camera roll movements, but the steering lines obviously do most of the stabilising.
