Nearing at the end of my foil building adventure some pictures of the end result
I still have a lot of sanding to do to finish it off nicely but I'm pretty happy with result even if it does only come out the water once and crashes and burns
. The amount of knowledge gained just in terms of construction methods for this type of design is worth it alone. I thought building plain kiteboards would teach me everything there was to know but this was one a whole new level and I enjoyed every minute of it. Even the part there I almost took my thumb off with table saw
A problem I seem to be having is whether or not I should counter sink the bolts that attach the foils to the fuselage. It was the original plan. In the pictures I'm using button head bolts. I did try counter sink the rear bolts but I found that when I tightened the bolts they tend to hurt the carbon fiber/kevlar and I also drill the holes to big so I don't have much grip on the actual foil. Unless I'm tightening it to hard. The button head bolts do spoil the whole smooth idea I was going for. What I might do is fill the holes again will epoxy/carbon mix and re drill the holes in the foils and counter sink again.

Presque à la fin de mon aventure bâtiment feuille quelques photos du résultat final;) j'ai encore beaucoup de ponçage à faire pour finir bien, mais je suis assez content du résultat, même si elle ne sortent seulement de l'eau une fois les accidents et les brûlures
. La quantité de connaissances acquises seulement en termes de méthodes de construction pour ce type de conception en vaut la peine tout seul. Je pensais que la construction kiteboards plaine allait m'enseigner tout ce qu'il ya à savoir, mais ce fut l'un un tout nouveau niveau et j'ai apprécié chaque minute de lui. Même la partie là, j'ai presque pris mon pouce hors de scie circulaire à table: D
Un problème que j'ai semblent avoir est de savoir si je devais ou non contre couler les boulons qui attachent les feuilles sur le fuselage. C'était le plan initial. Sur les photos je suis l'aide de boulons à tête ronde. Je n'ai pas essayé contre couler les boulons arrière, mais j'ai constaté que quand je serrais les boulons ils ont tendance à nuire à la fibre de carbone / kevlar et j'ai aussi percer les trous à grand donc je n'ai pas beaucoup d'adhérence sur la feuille réelle. Si je ne me la serrer trop fort. Les boulons à tête ronde ne gâcher toute l'idée que j'allais en douceur pour. Qu'est-ce que je pourrais faire est de remplir les trous à nouveau carbone / époxy mélange et re percer les trous dans les feuilles et les contre-évier à nouveau.
