Laminating Aluminum Questions

Hello,
I hope the frequent posters from the french side are able to read this and willing to reply!
I need to reinforce 4mm aircraft aluminum front and back wings, I rode them many, many times last year and know and like them.
Chris was nice enough to explain a (WET SAND WIH EPOXY) system, I am testing on a no flex tuttle box.
Damchab suggested polyester as first layer with fiber glass.

Does any one have an idea which will stick best to alu?

There is also vynlester to consider?
Any ideas much appreicated!
I know that the aircraft industry laminates ALU, but with etching, and chemicals that I do not have acess to!

If someone needs translation I will try to get my wife to help.

I guess sandblast should have a similar effect
or scratching with a exacto-knife (crosshatch) should do the job.

Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys 
1. Degrease with trichloroethylene. 
2. Dip in the following solution for ten minutes (for certain alloys, such as No. 360 only one to three minutes is required): 
3 parts sodium dichromate 
10 parts 96% sulfuric acid 
20 parts water 
(Be careful to dissolve sodium dichromate in the water, then add the sulfuric acid slowly). 
3. Rinse in ambient tap water. 
4. Rinse in hot (150-170°F.) distilled water. 
5. Air dry.




I don't know if such extremes are needed. (sounds like dangerous chemicals!) I think epoxy will better to anything than polyester, but with this pretreatment a polyester will likely also bond well. 


I have not tried all the steps suggested there, but I have use epoxy resin over a freshly sanded aluminium part which seemed to work quite OK.

just be careful with acid and water!!
always put acid in water (slowly) if you put water in acid it can "explode" !!!!
