| Hello everyone.
My name is Rik Karman. Absolutely addicted to kiting and tattoos. I am planning to make my own hydrafoil board. I am attending a carpentry school. I have acces to a CNC machine and ironcad. Im planning to make some malds of MDF and press glassfiber into it. Im a bit hesitent to use carbon because it is so expensive. Maybe ill just use 1 outer layer of carbon. Meanwhile i will lurk some on the DYI forums. Cheers

| Hi Horned Squirrel and welcome,
It doesn't have to be carbon and in reality the price of foils has reduced considerably with the introduction of Aluminum so you can either go down the route of spending quite a lot of time designing and sanding or maybe opt for a Alu Leg and fuselage and make your own wings - I've built lots of foils and the tricky part is most definitely the fuselage and leg.
Good luck in which ever direction you choose to go
